Yesterday I was working from home and listening to Bon Jovi’s song “It’s My Life”…it’s now or never, I ain’t gonna live forever, I just want to live while I’m alive.   Maybe you know the song?

This past week I had the ability to travel to San Diego for a business conference.   It was AWESOME!!!!    The best part of this trip was connecting with people, building relationships and learning how we can help others.  It doesn’t get any better than that…people helping people succeed!

When you’re passionate about your business and how you can help others your home business with catapult to new heights!  It’s never about selling it’s about helping.

What is your purpose?   Let’s do this together.  Get crystal clear with it, write it out, go buy some poster board TODAY and write it down in BIG bold letters, cut out pictures and start dreaming big.   I’m creating a new vision board today, care to join me?

You can be, do or have anything you dream.  After that you know what I do?  I STOP and simply LISTEN to others and see if I can help fill a need.  That’s all, it’s that simple.   Don’t make it more complicated or difficult for yourself.  Let’s enjoy this journey together.

There are two kinds of people. Those who walk into a room and say, “Well, here I am!”  And then there are those who walk in and say, “Ahh, there you are!”

First impressions are permanent.  Why? Our fast-paced information-overload world multiple stimuli bombarding us every second, people’s heads are spinning like crazy.  People must form fast judgments to make sense of the world and get on with what they have to do.  People tend to take 10 seconds to size you up and decide if they want to do business with YOU.

When people meet you, they take an instant mental snapshot.  That image of you becomes the image they deal with for a very long time.

This is especially important if you’re using Facebook or any other social media tool to connect and network with others.    You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression.

I once was getting estimates on new carpeting.  The first sales person I met took a call on his cell phone within a few minutes of our meeting.  It rubbed me the wrong way and I didn’t want to do business with that company.  The second estimate was by a gentleman who was kind and his price was higher but guess what …I did business with the second person because I liked him!  Cost didn’t matter at that point, I felt the first person was rude to answer their phone during our meeting and I will not recommend them or do business with them any time in the future.

The Golden Rule of Networking is people will do business with people they know, like and trust.  Our goal is to always develop new relationships with people on an everyday basis and develop those relationships to a point that those people feel so good about us they do know us, like us and trust us!  They want to see us succeed and find new business.  They enjoy being a part of our business and life which means they’ll go out of their way to help us succeed with referrals.

I once read Bob Burg say “What we want to do is develop personal walking ambassadors.”  When we do this with one new person then we’ve just added our personal sphere of influence by about 250 people every single time.  When you do this with enough new people on a consistent basis you’ll have an incredibly enormous sphere of influence!

Now let’s think about networking on social media…if you have not signed up for a free account with Facebook now is the time to get involved!  This is one of the easiest ways to network from home and it’s freeeeee!  It’s like going to a party but you get to stay in your P.J.s if you want. 🙂
